NEWS FLASH!! 2025 Inspections
NEWS FLASH!! 2025 Inspections
1. BPS Membership form (only if you are not a current member of the Barock Pinto Association of North America)
3. BPS Horse Registration Form.
You also must include copies of the registration(if horse is registered with another organization) and pedigree papers for each horse that you are registering.
Also include the registration and pedigree papers of the sire and dam, if available, unless they are already registered with the BPS.
If registration papers are not available and the parent(s) are unknown, write unknown for parents.
3. DNA Veterinary Statement- must be signed by a licensed veterinarian.
4. Ownership Transfer Form
A Microchip is required to register all horses. If your horse does not have a microchip one must be inserted by a licensed veterinarian who completes the microchip information on the Registration Form and signs it. This must be completed before you may enter your horse into an inspection. Copies of the verification of microchip implantation must be sent with the registration form if the horse is recently microchipped.
Foals must be microchipped at the mothers side within 6 months of birth. If the foal is not with the mother at the time of microchip insertion, the mother and sires DNA must be made available to verify parentage. If the foal is registered after 6 months, a usage announcing fee will be imposed.
If parents are known, copy pedigrees and mail copies of both parents pedigrees with the registration form. If the parents are not registered in the BPS, registration documentation in another registration is unavailable for them and the parents are availlable, have a licensed veterinarian collect hair samples, place in paper envelope(not plastic)label them with the horses name, owners name, date of birth and microchip number. Although it is preferred to have pedigrees and hair samples on the sire and dam, you do not need to have the pedigrees or hair samples of the sire and dam to register your horse. Your horse can be registered with an unknown pedigree in Pre Book 1 when no information is known on one or both parents.
All registered horses must have DNA hair samples on file.
Foals must have their hair sample sent, the hair sample of the dam and the DNA form filled out for the dam if they are 6 months or younger.
Whenever possible, also send DNA hair samples with the completed DNA form for the dam and sire. If the sire is an Approved Stallion with the BPS, hair samples from the sire are not required. If the sire is an approved BPS or KFPS stallion, hair samples are not required for the sire.
DNA samples play an important role in maintaining a database and ensuring the continued documented pedigrees of our beautiful Barock Pinto Horses.
All BPANA registered horses are required to have four photographs on file. All photographs must include the entire horse including the hooves.
The following photographic views are required:
1.front- with the head facing the camera and with the forelock tucked aside so all facial markings are clearly visible.
2. right side
3. left side
4. back-move the tail to the side to clearly show markings
Please email photos to secretary@barockpintohorse.com or print and mail four photos with registration forms.
